Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has reiterated the association’s support for Thomas Partey, confirming that the FA remains in constant communication with the midfielder as he navigates an ongoing legal process.

Partey is currently facing additional charges related to alleged offences involving four women. The Ghana international has denied all allegations through his legal team and is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13, with a trial date set for November 2.

Speaking on Asaase Radio, Okraku stressed that the FA is closely monitoring the situation while maintaining its backing for the 32-year-old.

“Thomas Partey is our deputy captain and a key member of the Black Stars. The GFA will never sleep over any situation with a player like Partey. We’re in constant contact with Partey, and he’s in a good frame of mind despite what we read online. He has a strong mindset, and he’s preparing to represent Ghana at the World Cup,” Okraku said.

The GFA president further emphasised the federation’s stance, describing Partey as an important figure within the national team setup and pledging continued support during the challenging period.

“Thomas Partey knows our position. We stand shoulder to shoulder with him during these challenging times. I’m very positive that despite all the happenings, Partey will show up for the World Cup,” he added.

The alleged incidents are reported to have occurred between 2020 and 2022, with investigations launched by the Metropolitan Police after an initial complaint in February 2022. Partey has previously entered not guilty pleas and was granted conditional bail as proceedings continue.

Following his departure from Arsenal at the end of his contract, Partey has continued his club career in Spain with Villarreal on a one-year deal.

Legal proceedings remain ongoing, with further developments expected later in the year as the case moves through the courts.
