Owner and President of FC Samartex, Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, has announced that the club will unveil a new head coach on Wednesday, December 25, as they seek to turn their fortunes around in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Samartex, the defending champions, have endured a challenging campaign, currently sitting 10th on the league table with 17 points after 13 games.

The team has struggled to replicate their title-winning form, compounded by an early exit in the FA Cup after a defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars in the Round of 64.

Last week, head coach Nurudeen Amadu stepped down following a 1-0 home loss to Heart of Lions. Assistant coach Henry Wellington has since served as interim coach but oversaw a 1-0 defeat to Bechem United in their Matchday 13 encounter at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Dr. Nsenkyire confirmed the imminent announcement during an interview with Asempa FM, emphasizing the club’s commitment to a turnaround.

The new coach is expected to take charge for Samartex’s Matchday 15 clash against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
