FC Samartex Sanction Eric Bekoe After Disciplinary Ruling
Ghana Premier League side FC Samartex have taken firm disciplinary action against their youth team head coach, Eric Bekoe, following the conclusion of an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct.
The former Ghana international was earlier placed on temporary suspension as the club’s disciplinary committee examined claims of insubordination and breaches of internal regulations. After a formal hearing, the committee reached a verdict that saw Bekoe found culpable on the majority of the charges brought against him.
In an official statement released on Thursday, the club confirmed that Bekoe was found guilty of three out of four counts and has been handed a two-week suspension. In addition, he will lose one month’s salary, which will be deducted over a two-month period, and has been instructed to formally commit to improved conduct going forward.
“This is to notify the public that, after appearing before the club’s disciplinary committee, Eric Bekoe was found guilty of 3 out of the 4 charges levelled against him by the club,” the statement read.
“Subsequently, the DC has imposed a two-week suspension on Mr Bekoe. Additionally, he is to forfeit one month’s salary, which will be deducted over two months. He shall sign a bond to be of good behaviour,” FC Samartex added in the notice signed by club chairman, Chief Inspector (Rtd) Vincent Bebli.
Beyond the individual sanction, the club used the occasion to reiterate its commitment to discipline and institutional order. The disciplinary committee has urged all staff members and affiliated bodies to strictly observe established procedures and respect the club’s governance structures.
The decision signals FC Samartex’s intent to enforce accountability across all levels of the club as it seeks to maintain professionalism both on and off the pitch.
