Kwame Opoku’s Late Strike Ends Kotoko’s Drought in Win Over Dreams FC

Asante Kotoko finally halted their frustrating run without a win after edging Dreams FC 1-0 in a tense Ghana Premier League clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In a match defined more by intensity than flair, clear-cut chances were scarce as both teams battled fiercely across the pitch.

The breakthrough arrived in the 80th minute when Kwame Opoku capitalised on a moment of defensive hesitation, reacting quickest inside the box to stab home a left-footed effort past goalkeeper Osman Rahman. The striker had earlier spurned an opportunity but showed composure when it mattered most.

Dreams FC refused to fade and mounted late pressure in search of an equaliser. Their best chance came in the dying moments, but a weakly struck effort was heroically cleared off the line, allowing Kotoko to escape as the home fans held their breath.

The victory snaps the Porcupine Warriors’ four-game winless streak and propels them into third place on the table. Dreams FC, however, leave Kumasi disappointed as they drop back into the relegation zone.
