Dr. Richard Nsenkyire Calls for Improvements in Black Stars Technical Team
Owner of FC Samartex, Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical team ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The comments come as the Black Stars prepare for a critical phase in their World Cup qualification campaign.
The Black Stars also failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025 earmark to be staged in Morocco after failing to win a single game in the qualifiers.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Dr. Nsenkyire expressed concerns about the current setup, stating that changes are necessary to ensure better performances on the international stage.
“If the Black Stars technical team can improve, we have to do that,” he said.
Reflecting on the team’s struggles during the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Dr. Nsenkyire suggested that relying on the same personnel without enhancements could lead to further disappointments.
“We have used the same people throughout the AFCON qualifiers and they have failed, so I believe that they must be improved. During the World Cup qualifiers, if the service of a technical director is needed to help the technical team, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should do it,” he added.
