The future of Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz will be decided after Ghana’s FIFA World Cup campaign, according to Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams.

The Sports Minister’s comments come as Queiroz continues to lead Ghana in an impressive World Cup campaign. The Black Stars progressed to the Round of 32 after finishing second in their group and are now preparing for a crucial knockout clash against Colombia.

Speaking on Sporty Breakfast, the Minister revealed that discussions over a possible contract extension for the Portuguese tactician will only take place once the tournament concludes.

“We’ll discuss whether to extend Carlos Queiroz’s contract when we get back from the World Cup,” Kofi Adams said.

For now, the Minister says the priority is to give the technical team and players their full support as they focus on advancing further in the competition, with decisions on the coach’s future set to be made after Ghana’s World Cup journey comes to an end.
