Jonathan Sowah opened the scoring in Kumasi from the spot early in the game after a foul in the penalty box.

The Black Stars forward stepped up and converted the resulting advantage to give Evans Adotey’s side the all-important start.

However, Medeama were unable to hold on to the advantage before the break as the visitors pecked them back before the break.

Pacome Zouzoua picked up the ball from the centre of the field before going on a solo run and beating goalkeeper Felix Kyei to make it 1-1.

The result leaves Meeama in third position in Group D after three games played, one point off top spot after Al Ahly and CR Belouzdad also played out a 0-0 draw.
