Medeama SC secure narrow victory over Remo Stars SC in CAF Champions League first leg
Ghana’s only representative at the 2023-24 CAF Champions League, Medeama SC on Sunday, August 20,2023 welcomed Remo Stars Sports Club in Ghana, Cape Coast Stadium for the first leg of the preliminary round.
The Champions of the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League harvested a narrow 1-0 victory over the Nigerian outfit, courtesy Jonathan Sowah.
Medeama SC scored in the first half following a marvelous football display, however failed to replicate same performance in the second department despite creating several goalscoring opportunities.
Sowah scored in the 21st minute to puts the host infront with a superb strike from long range.
The 1-0 might not be enough to see the Mauves and Yellow outfit secure qualification to the next phase of the competition, sees they will need to avoid defeat in the second leg.
Medeama SC will travel to Remoland to face Remo Stars Sports Club next week.
