Ghanaian youngster Caleb Yirenkyi has been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Month award in the Danish Superliga following an impressive run of form in August.

The 19-year-old right-back, who features for FC Nordsjaelland, delivered standout performances across the month, catching the eye of league organisers and earning himself a spot among the nominees.

Yirenkyi faces stiff competition from fellow Ghanaians Prince Amoako Jr of FC Nordsjaelland and Bismark Edjeodji of Vejle Boldklub. Other contenders include Thomas Jorgensen of Viborg, Clement Bischoff – who recently completed a move to Red Bull Salzburg from Brøndby IF – and Viborg’s Hjalte Bidstrup.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate featured in 300 minutes of league action for Nordsjaelland in August, during which he registered one goal and an assist. His explosive displays have made him a rising star in Danish football.

Yirenkyi’s nomination comes on the back of his competitive debut for the Black Stars, where he started in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on September 4.
