Asante Kotoko to pay heavily for hosting matches at Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results
Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko, are set to incur significant costs as they host their home games at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Initially, the club planned to use the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the 2024/25 season, but ongoing renovations have forced a venue change.
With the closure of Baba Yara Sports Stadium by the National Sports Authority (NSA) for renovations, the Porcupine Warriors have opted for the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi as their temporary home ground.
Sources indicate that Asante Kotoko will pay an estimated GHS 10,000 for each match hosted at the Len Clay Stadium. Despite the expense, the club will retain all gate proceeds from their home games.
Asante Kotoko will play their next home match at the Len Clay Sports Stadium against Young Apostles on Sunday, September 22.
The nature of the Baba Yara Stasium has raised serious concerns with CAF handing a ban on it to prevent GHana from hosting international matches until it undergoes a major upgrade.
