Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has acknowledged the growing pressure surrounding his team as the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season approaches its decisive stage.

With only ten matches left to play, the Hunters find themselves battling to stay clear of the relegation zone. After 24 rounds of fixtures, Bechem United sit 13th on the league table with 30 points,  just three points above the drop zone.

The precarious position has heightened the importance of their remaining games, as the club looks to secure enough points to guarantee top-flight survival.

Speaking ahead of Friday’s Week 25 clash against Nations FC, Amissah admitted the current situation demands both mental strength and renewed effort from his players.

“I think we are working very hard on the boys. Psychologically, we work on them. And today we will see different approach at our training. And before the match, we have to psyche them up. Of course, looking at the position that we find ourselves now, there is pressure in terms of moving from where we are to get to be among the top 10,” the coach told Bechem United TV.

Amissah emphasized that the team’s focus is not only on collecting points but also maintaining a positive mindset as they approach the final stretch of the campaign.

“We’ll focus and then psychologically, we prepare ourselves so that this record will not be the first time to be broken, and we’ll make sure we work hard to sustain that record. This not going to be the first time of breaking that record.”

Bechem United will host Nations FC on Friday, March 6, in what promises to be a crucial encounter as the Hunters attempt to climb away from danger and stabilize their position on the league table.
