Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has shrugged off criticisms branding his squad as weak, emphasizing his commitment to consistency and collecting maximum points.

His comments come after the Phobians’ narrow 1-0 victory over Legon Cities FC in their latest Ghana Premier League fixture.

In a post-match interview, Coach Ouattara addressed skeptics, stating that the team is fully focused on achieving their objectives despite external doubts.

“Some people say we have a weak team, but we are playing. Every match is a challenge to Hearts of Oak. For now, we need to target maximum points from every game,” he said.

Reflecting on the encounter, the coach acknowledged that his side struggled in the first half, particularly in terms of intensity and winning duels.

“It is normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team is fighting, you also have to fight, but we didn’t fight in the first half. Fortunately, we got the chance to score,” Ouattara explained.

Despite the initial challenges, Hearts of Oak’s perseverance paid off, with their victory propelling them to second place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
