Real Tamale United stun Hearts of Oak SC with a late screamer
Real Tamale United FC nearly suffered a setback with a draw in their game against Hearts of Oak SC at home in the 2023-24 BetPawa Premier League opener.
All at the Stadium, thought game was heading to a goalless draw until the host, Real Tamale United shocked the Phobians with a late screamer. Afriyie Owusu’s second half stoppage time strike stole all maximum points for the homester.
The Ghanaian top-flight returned with a banger, as former Premier League champions Hearts of Oak SC travelled to Tamale to face their rival RTU. The epic encounter ended 1-0 in favour of the host, Real Tamale United as they maintained their good record with the Phobians.
Since the return of Real Tamale United to the topflight league in the 2021/22 league, they are yet to lose a game against Hearts of Oak in five games, winning four and drawing one including today’s results.
RTU have won two and drawn one at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium and are yet to lose a game against Hearts of Oak at home.
The Northern based outfit will next face, Bofoakwa Tano in week two fixture away in Sunyani whiles the Continental Club Masters take on Nsoatreman FC at home.
