Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has expressed his desire to return from injury as soon as possible after being sidelined since December.

The Norwegian forward was honoured as Best Men’s Player at the Globe Soccer Awards for his stunning form last season.

However, a foot problem has kept him out in recent months.

Speaking in Dubai after receiving his award, Haaland said: “I hope [to be back] really soon, because I’m getting a bit sick of not playing.”

The 23-year-old hit an incredible 52 goals in 53 games in his debut campaign with City after joining from Borussia Dortmund.

He had continued his goalscoring feats this term with 14 in 15 Premier League appearances.

Haaland praised Pep Guardiola and City for helping him settle into English football so smoothly.

He described the club as “fantastic” and said he is enjoying his time in Manchester.

The striker also revealed he still has the Champions League anthem as his phone ringtone, highlighting his love for the competition after City’s triumph last season.
