Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has named a 25-man squad for the opening games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Andre Ayew, Abdul Mumin and Majeed Ashimeru as well as Kamaldeen Sulemana are among the notable returnees in the squad named by the gaffer.

Ayew, without a club, is back in the national team after being left out for the October games against Mexico and the United States of America.

The skipper has not been active in club football after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Mumin, on the other hand, has been called up for the first time under Hughton following his recent performances for Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish La Liga.

The 25-year-old had been part of previous Black Stars squads under Otto Addo in the past year before the appointment of Hughton.

Ashimeru, having returned from injury, also makes a return to the team.
