Wilson Arthur Predicts Thrilling FA Cup Final Between Asante Kotoko and Golden Kick
Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has projected a thrilling and competitive final in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup as Asante Kotoko prepare to lock horns with Division One underdogs Golden Kick.
The highly anticipated showdown is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
Golden Kick booked their historic spot in the final after stunning fellow Division One side Attram De Visser 3-1 on Saturday at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa. On Sunday, Asante Kotoko secured their passage with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea, also at the TNA Stadium.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Wilson Arthur praised both teams for their performances while highlighting the unique intrigue surrounding the upcoming final.
“We are anticipating a tough and exciting FA Cup final.” “I believe Attram De Visser didn’t perform to my expectations, but I also know that they had a few injuries. They said they were ready to play, but they lost to Golden Kick,” he explained.
He also gave credit to Asante Kotoko for their determined display against Berekum Chelsea, praising their resilience in a tight contest.
“For Asante Kotoko, I believe they deserve it, and so we are in for a good final. Karim Zito qualified Golden Kick to the Division One League, and so he knows this club, and the players know him as well. So expect a good game in the final,” he added.
The winner of the June 15 final will not only lift the coveted domestic trophy but also earn a ticket to represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
