“The perpetrators must be dealt with”- Frederick Acheampong
GFA Executive Committee Member Frederick Acheampong has stressed the association’s firm stance on ensuring justice is served concerning the murder of Asante Kotoko fan Yaw Frimpong.
The incident, which occurred during a Premier League fixture, has sparked outrage and calls for enhanced security and accountability at match venues across the country.
Speaking at a press engagement after a long meeting with club owners and administrators concerning the issue, Fred Acheampong revealed the GFA’s expectations of the ongoing investigations.
“We expect only one outcome. That the perpetrators must be dealt with. What happened there goes beyond football. It is crime and it is murder. They must face the full rigor of the law. That is why the owner of the club (Nsoatreman) and the others have been arrested. They must find the killer,” He said.
Already six people have been arrested after the incident happened on Sunday.
Acheampong’s remarks underscore the GFA’s commitment to working with law enforcement agencies to ensure that all individuals involved in the violent act are held accountable. The association has also vowed to implement reforms to improve safety and security at football matches.
