The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has strongly condemned the violence that erupted during the Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC on February 2, 2025, at Nana Konamansah Park.

The tragic events, which resulted in the loss of life, injuries, and property destruction, have been described as an unacceptable stain on the integrity of Ghanaian football.

In a statement, the GFA extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to those injured during the chaos.

To ensure the safety of all stakeholders while investigations are ongoing, the GFA has invoked Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations, imposing an immediate ban on Nsoatreman FC’s home venue until further notice.

The GFA’s Security Committee, led by DCOP Lydia Donkor, along with the FA Prosecutors, has been tasked with gathering all relevant evidence, including match reports and official documentation. The findings will be presented to the Disciplinary Committee, which will determine appropriate sanctions for those responsible.

Furthermore, the GFA has formally engaged the Ghana Police Service to conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident.
