Tanko Sets Sights on Maximum Points as Medeama Prepare for Holy Stars Test
Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has made his intentions clear ahead of his side’s next Ghana Premier League assignment, insisting the focus is firmly on securing all three points against Basake Holy Stars.
The Yellow and Mauves head into the fixture in strong position, sitting second on the table with 26 points just two adrift of leaders Aduana FC and still holding a game in hand. With momentum building, the Tarkwa-based side could move to the top of the standings with a positive result.
Speaking ahead of Monday’s encounter, Tanko stressed that his team has taken nothing for granted in their preparations, pointing to the competitiveness of the league this season.
“We are preparing against any team almost the same because I always say there is no small team in the league. Anyone can beat any team on a good day, so we are preparing well,” he told Medi TV.
“We hope that our boys will do the needful so that we keep the points here.”
The clash between Medeama and Basake Holy Stars is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Monday, December 22, at the TnA Stadium, where the home side will be eager to make full use of familiar surroundings.
With the title race beginning to take shape, victory on Monday would not only extend Medeama’s impressive run but could also lift them to the top of the Ghana Premier League, strengthening their push for silverware as the season progresses.
