Tamimu Issah Calls for Reforms in Management Committee Structure
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) spokesperson, Tamimu Issah, has called for a re-evaluation of the management committee system within the GFA.
In recent years, the public has questioned the importance of the management committees for the various national teams.
The GFA dissolved the Black Stars Management Committee after the team failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025.
Speaking on the current structure, Issah questioned the role and relevance of management committees in the presence of the GFA’s National Teams Department, which is designed to oversee the country’s football teams.
“The GFA has national teams departments. So what is the essence of management committees? What do these committees do?” Issah questioned on Asempa FM.
Issah believes that empowering and adequately resourcing the National Teams Department could eliminate the need for separate management committees, ensuring a more cohesive and cost-effective system.
“There should be reforms at the FA. And as part of the reforms, we need to look at the management committee system. I believe that if the national teams department is well-resourced and empowered, they can manage our teams,” he added.
