Rafatu Inusah has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), taking over from Herbert Mensah, who now serves as the President of Rugby Africa.

The former Board Member contested unopposed and will lead Ghana Rugby for the next four years, bringing her wealth of experience as a former athlete, coach, and administrator to the role. She is also a member of the Women’s Advisory Committee of Rugby Africa.

Speaking after her election, Rafatu expressed her gratitude and outlined her vision for the future of Ghana Rugby.

“We are going to tirelessly work together to make sure that Ghana Rugby is well represented,” she stated. “I am happy and proud of all of us, not just myself, and I feel very humbled.”

Rafatu will be supported by Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi, while Prince Kwaku, Emmanuel Kalos, Abdul Saeed Samed, and SaCut Amenga-Etego were also elected unopposed as board members. Anita Atieku will serve as the Women’s Representative on the board.

With her leadership now confirmed, Rafatu and her team will be tasked with revitalizing Ghana Rugby, strengthening grassroots participation, and improving the country’s representation in continental competitions.
