GFA is not accountable to Ghanaians- Nana Sarfo Oduro
Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council Member Nana Sarfo Oduro has clarified the scope of the organization’s accountability, emphasizing its responsibility to member clubs rather than the general public or supporters.
The remarks come amidst heightened scrutiny of the GFA’s operations, with many fans demanding greater transparency and engagement.
Speaking on Asempa FM‘s Sports Nite, Sarfo Oduro outlined the structure of the GFA, stressing that its primary obligation is to the football entities that make up the association.
“The Ghana Football Association is accountable to the football people. It is an organization. We are accountable to each and every football club. The association is made of individual clubs,” Oduro explained.
He clarified that while the GFA values the passion of supporters, its formal accountability does not extend to the general populace or fans.
“We are not accountable to supporters or Ghanaians,” Oduro stated, reinforcing that the GFA’s governance is directed by the clubs that form its membership.
