Prosper Ogum disappointed with draw against Medeama
Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed frustration after his team’s 1-1 draw with Medeama Sporting Club in a highly anticipated Ghana Premier League clash at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.
The evenly contested match ended Kotoko’s four-game winning streak, leaving both teams to settle for a point each.
Kwame Opoku put Kotoko ahead in the 44th minute, continuing his rich vein of form since returning to the club. The striker’s well-timed run and clinical finish gave the visitors a deserved lead heading into halftime.
Medeama, however, roared back into the game in the second half. Interim coach Evans Adotey’s tactical adjustments paid off as substitute Kamaradini Mamudu capitalized on a defensive error to equalize, sending the home crowd into celebration.
In his post-match interview, Prosper Narteh Ogum lamented his side’s inability to convert their dominance into a win.
“The scoreline is not a true reflection of the game. We created several clear-cut chances and should have won the game comfortably. It’s disappointing because we had the game under control,” Ogum said.
Asante Kotoko will aim to bounce back in their next fixture as they push to reclaim their spot among the league’s top contenders.
