The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that Mohammed Huzeinu, the individual who disrupted Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad, has been sentenced to 100 days in prison.

The incident occurred during the Matchday 5 fixture last Friday, when Huzeinu stormed onto the pitch, bringing play to a halt.

His actions not only interrupted the game but also posed a serious security breach, which could lead to financial penalties from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The GFA now faces the risk of disciplinary action from CAF, as pitch invasions are strictly prohibited in international matches. Such violations can attract fines and other sanctions, which may impact future home matches for the Black Stars.

Following the sentencing, the GFA has urged supporters to respect matchday regulations, emphasizing the need for discipline and order in stadiums to avoid future sanctions.
