Otto Addo Visits Injured Abdul Mumin in Spain
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has paid a visit to Ghana international Abdul Mumin in Spain as the defender continues his recovery from a thigh injury sustained in late March.
The 26-year-old Rayo Vallecano centre-back suffered the injury during a 1-1 La Liga draw against Sevilla on March 31, ruling him out of action for both club and country.
With Ghana gearing up for a four-nation tournament in the United Kingdom later this month, Addo’s visit is part of the technical team’s broader efforts to monitor player welfare and maintain close contact with sidelined stars.
Mumin, who has nine senior caps for Ghana, missed the Black Stars’ emphatic World Cup qualifying wins against Chad and Madagascar in March. He will also sit out the Unity Cup matches but welcomed the coach’s visit, providing updates on his recovery process and expressing optimism about returning in time for the next phase of the qualifiers.
The friendly tournament — dubbed the 2025 Unity Cup — will feature Ghana, Nigeria, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica, with matches scheduled between May 28 and June 1 in London.
