Okraku Urges Ghana to Rally Behind Otto Addo After Back-to-Back World Cup Qualifications
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has appealed for sustained support for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, hailing his role in securing successive FIFA World Cup tickets for the national team.
Addo, currently in his second spell in charge of the Black Stars, previously masterminded Ghana’s qualification for the 2022 World Cup and has now repeated the feat by steering the team to the 2026 global showpiece. His achievement places him in a unique position among Ghanaian coaches in recent history.
“Otto Addo is the only Ghanaian to have qualified the Black Stars for two World Cups. Let’s respect and support him for that. He’s done well,” Okraku said in an interview with Asaase Radio.
As Ghana intensifies preparations for the tournament, the GFA has reinforced Addo’s backroom staff with several strategic appointments.
The expanded technical team is expected to sharpen tactical planning, data analysis and physical conditioning as the Black Stars gear up for the demands of the World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia, as the four-time African champions aim to make a strong impression on the global stage.
