The Ghana Football Association has opted for continuity within the Black Stars’ technical team, confirming that three members of the existing setup will remain in place ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The decision follows the official unveiling of head coach Carlos Queiroz in Accra, as the Portuguese tactician begins assembling his backroom staff for the global tournament.

Assistant coach Desmond Offei, goalkeepers’ trainer Fatawu Dauda and high-performance coach John Paintsil have all been retained, providing a measure of stability during the transition.

While these key figures remain, Queiroz is expected to bolster the technical bench with additional appointments, with the Association indicating that further announcements will be made in the coming days.

The 73-year-old coach is set to spend a short period in Ghana before heading to Europe to monitor potential call-ups as he begins shaping his squad for the tournament.

Ghana, preparing for their fifth appearance at the World Cup, have been drawn in a challenging Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team.

With recent campaigns ending at the group stage, the focus now shifts to building a more competitive unit capable of making a deeper run on football’s biggest stage under the new technical leadership.
