Medeama SC sent a powerful message in the Ghana Premier League title race with a ruthless 4-0 demolition of Asante Kotoko at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.

In a performance defined by intensity and clinical finishing, the hosts dominated from start to finish, leaving their rivals with no answer to their attacking prowess.

The breakthrough arrived in the 14th minute under fortunate circumstances, as Manuel Mantey’s strike deflected off Henry Ansu and wrong-footed the goalkeeper to give Medeama an early advantage. That goal sparked a wave of pressure, and the home side doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Kelvin Obeng rose above the defence to head home convincingly.

Medeama continued to pile on the pressure, and their dominance was further rewarded just before halftime when Salim Adams finished from close range to make it three.

Any hopes of a Kotoko comeback were quickly extinguished after the break. Adams returned to haunt the visitors once again, striking five minutes into the second half to complete his brace and cap off a superb individual display that earned him Man of the Match honors.

The emphatic victory lifts Medeama back to the top of the league standings, opening a two-point gap over defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars with only five matches left to play.

As the season edges toward its conclusion, the result not only strengthens Medeama’s position but also serves as a clear statement of intent. With momentum firmly on their side, the Mauve and Yellow have laid down a marker in what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested race for the title.
