Medeama SC assistant coach, Stephen Pius Gurah, has shared mixed emotions following his team’s 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko in their Week 16 Ghana Premier League encounter at the TnA Stadium.

The match was a tightly contested affair, with both teams creating numerous opportunities. Kwame Opoku opened the scoring for Asante Kotoko late in the first half, but Medeama equalized in the second half through substitute Kamaradini Mamudu.

Despite earning a point, Coach Gurah expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing that his side had enough chances to secure a win.

“I’m not all that okay with the scoreline because, at the end of the day, the game was a ding-dong affair in which we had a lot of chances, and then we could not convert them,” Gurah said in a post-match interview.

He, however, acknowledged the positives from the match, noting that creating chances is a step in the right direction for his team.

“At least it is good for us to create,” he added, highlighting the importance of turning opportunities into goals in future matches.

The result keeps Medeama SC at the 7th position with 25 points while Asante Kotoko are 4th with 28 points.
