The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been declared eligible to contest for a position on the Executive Council (EXCO) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

This announcement follows Okraku’s successful completion of CAF’s stringent integrity and eligibility tests conducted by the CAF Review Committee.

The CAF Executive Committee Elective Congress is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt, where leaders will gather to shape the future of African football.

Okraku’s clearance marks a significant moment in Ghanaian football, as his candidacy brings the potential for greater representation of the nation at the continental level.

This will be Okraku’s second attempt to vie for a CAF Executive Committee position. In 2021, the GFA President withdrew his candidacy to support former WAFU Zone B President Djibrilla Hima Hamidou of Niger.
