Prosper Harrison Addo Misses Out on GOC Executive Board Seat
General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, has fallen short in his attempt to secure a seat on the Executive Board of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) following elections held on Saturday.
Despite a spirited campaign, Harrison Addo garnered 28 votes, which was not enough to secure a spot among the successful candidates. The election saw George Lamptey (34 votes), Delphina Quaye (53 votes), Kamal Sulley (50 votes), George Tettey (40 votes), and Richmond Quarcoo (46 votes) earning places on the new GOC Executive Board.
The composition of the GOC Executive Board includes five representatives from Olympic sporting disciplines, one from non-Olympic disciplines, one representative from affiliate bodies, and three co-opted members.
Addo’s defeat means football’s influence within the new GOC leadership will be limited as preparations intensify ahead of major upcoming international events.
