The 18-year-old Ghanaian has a lot of pressure on his shoulders from Manchester United coaching staff and fans, considering what he did at pre-season with the Red Devils.

They know he will be involved in United season alot and will solve all of United’s midfield problems, but that is unrealistic.

Kobbie Mainoo suffered injury during their preseason game against Real Madrid in the first 10 minutes and could not continue. His case, has taken him off the pitch throughout the start of the new Premier league season and is yet to recover.

The youngster who is seen as potentially the next player to break through the club’s famed youth academy is still in the treatment room but the update on his fitness isn’t clear but could well be needed soon due to the dire start of some of the midfielder’s in his position.

Mainoo isn’t quite ready yet for a return to the first team and he is still some time away from returning.

Mainoo will definitely feature in some Premier League games and some European games when he returns but it seems unlikely that the midfielder will be starting every single week for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Nonetheless, speaking last month, Ten Hag promised Mainoo will get chances. He told a press conference: “Not in one month, but in two months, he will be available. And so, for the winter [that] is coming up, he absolutely will have his games.
