Ghana international Jordan Ayew expressed his mixed emotions after finding the net in Leicester City’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday in the Premier League.

Ayew, who played the entire match, delivered an impressive performance, scoring a stunning goal that briefly gave Leicester hope. However, Liverpool staged a commanding comeback to secure victory on home turf.

Speaking after the match, Ayew described the significance of scoring at one of football’s most iconic stadiums, though he emphasized his primary focus remains on team success.

“It’s always nice to score, especially at Anfield. It doesn’t happen all the time,” Ayew said. “But I think the most important thing for me was to help the team. We tried our best. We can come out of the game with our heads high, knowing that we’ve given our all.”

The Ghanaian forward highlighted Leicester City’s spirited display despite the result and urged his teammates to maintain a positive outlook for the rest of the season.

“We showed good sides of ourselves, and we just need to continue like this, stay positive because obviously, the season is going to be a roller coaster,” he added.

Ayew took a moment to commend Leicester City supporters for their unwavering loyalty, acknowledging their presence and vocal backing even in difficult moments.

“The fans were fantastic as always. Their support means everything, and we appreciate them sticking with us through thick and thin,” he remarked.
