Jeffrey Schlupp Relishes New Challenge After Joining Norwich City
Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp has expressed his enthusiasm after completing a move to Championship side Norwich City on a free transfer, following his departure from Crystal Palace.
The 32-year-old versatile midfielder, who has signed a one-year contract with the Canaries, brings a depth of Premier League experience and international pedigree to Carrow Road, as Norwich aim for a return to the English top flight.
Speaking about the move, Schlupp shared his excitement at embarking on this new phase of his career. “I’m excited, it’s something new again but a lot to look forward to back in the Championship at a big club,” he said, signalling his readiness to contribute meaningfully to the club’s promotion push.
Schlupp also revealed that conversations with new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup played a key role in his decision to join. “I’ve spoken to the head coach about the plan for this year and I am excited to be involved,” he noted, suggesting a clear alignment with the club’s vision and objectives.
The former Leicester City and Crystal Palace star is looking forward to settling into the team environment and making an impact both on and off the pitch. “I’m looking forward to meeting all the players and hopefully we can create something special this year,” he added.
Schlupp’s arrival adds leadership and versatility to the Norwich squad. His CV includes a Premier League title with Leicester City in 2015/16 and most recently, a Scottish Premiership title with Celtic during a short loan spell. His winning mentality is expected to be a key influence in the Canaries’ Championship campaign.
