Black Stars forward, Inaki Williams is on cloud nine after ending a run of 11 matches without a goal for the country.

He headed home a last minute winner against Madagascar to seal three points for Ghana in their opener of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday.

“I am very happy for the team, it is not an easy job. I enjoyed the game, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Kumasi people are very special,” He said.

“This performance is so beautiful for me because my family was in the stadium.”

Ghana coach Chris Hughton, who has selected Inaki six times in eight games, was full of praise for the Bilbao player.

“The goal that he scored today [Friday] was, an exceptional cross from Gideon Mensah and Inaki in the right place.

“I am always confident if we provide good enough chances for him, he’ll always score goals.”

Inaki would hope to continue scoring when Ghana travel to face Comoros on November 21.
