Ghana Football Association has confirmed that Accra Hearts of Oak will host their remaining home matches of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign at the Accra Sports Stadium following the temporary closure of the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The decision comes after renovation works commenced at the Legon-based venue, forcing the Phobians to shift their base at a critical stage of the season.

Hearts of Oak began the campaign at the Accra Sports Stadium before moving to the University of Ghana facility, where they played seven matches after initially hosting five games at their original home ground.

With the redevelopment project now underway, the club is set to return to the capital’s iconic stadium as they push for a strong finish in the league.

Currently sitting fourth on the table, the Phobians remain in the title race, trailing leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by six points with eight matches left to play. The change of venue could prove significant as they look to maximise home advantage in the run-in.

Under head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Hearts will play five of their remaining fixtures in Accra, alongside three away matches to conclude the season.

The move sets the stage for a decisive end to the campaign, with the Phobians aiming to capitalize on familiar surroundings as they chase league glory.
