Hearts of Oak Part Ways with Midfielder Seth Osei After Short Spell
Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the departure of midfielder Seth Osei, bringing an early end to his time with the club just eight months after his signing.
Osei, 27, joined the Phobians in January 2025 on a two-year deal following his return from South African side TS Galaxy. Despite the high expectations surrounding his arrival, the experienced midfielder struggled to cement a regular place in the squad, particularly under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The club confirmed on Wednesday that both parties had reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
“Accra Hearts of Oak has mutually parted ways with midfielder Seth Osei. We thank him for his commitment and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” the statement read.
Osei’s difficulties became apparent in recent months, as he was left out of the GHALCA Top Four tournament and did not feature in any of the club’s opening fixtures in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. His final competitive appearance came late last season, where he made only eight league outings in total.
The former AshantiGold star is now a free agent and available to sign for a new club immediately as he seeks to revive his career. For Hearts of Oak, his departure not only reduces the level of competition in midfield but also opens the door for fresh additions to bolster the squad during the campaign.
