Hearts of Oak Focused and Ready for Super Clash – Kwame Opare Addo
As anticipation builds for the highly anticipated Super Clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, the Communications Director of the Phobians, Kwame Opare Addo, has emphasized the club’s readiness and focus ahead of Sunday’s showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Super Clash, considered the biggest rivalry in Ghanaian football, comes at a critical time in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts of Oak currently sit sixth on the table with 45 points, while Asante Kotoko are fourth with 50 points. A win for the Phobians would close the gap and intensify the title race, while Kotoko aim to solidify their push for the top spot.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite, Opare Addo stressed the importance of both defensive discipline and clinical finishing, noting that Hearts of Oak have been working diligently to address their shortcomings in attack.
“In football, the most important thing is not to concede,” he stated. “The most important thing is how to convert your chances that you get, which is something we are perfectly working on. We are serious from every angle and let’s focus on the game.”
Opare Addo’s comments reflect a determined and focused camp at Hearts, as the team prepares to welcome their bitterest rivals in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
Sunday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM GMT and is expected to draw thousands of fans to the Accra Sports Stadium for what is traditionally one of the most fiercely contested fixtures in African club football.
