Ghana’s U-16 Women’s National Team has touched down in Malta ahead of their participation in the UEFA International Development Tournament, which is set to run from March 3-9, 2025, at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali – Attard.

The young Ghanaian side will compete alongside Latvia, Ireland, and host nation Malta in a tournament designed to promote youth development and provide international exposure for emerging talents.

A 20-player squad, including two goalkeepers and 18 outfield players, along with seven technical officials, departed Ghana on Sunday evening and arrived in Malta on Monday morning.

The tournament is a crucial step in Ghana’s long-term strategy to develop young female footballers and prepare them for higher international competitions, including the Black Maidens (U-17 team).

Under the guidance of head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa, Ghana’s U-16 side will open their campaign against Malta on March 4, followed by clashes with Ireland on March 6 and Latvia on March 9.
