Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has been lauded by AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, following his performance in their Premier league away game to Liverpool FC.

Bournemouth lost 3-1 to Liverpool at the Anfield, with Antoine Semenyo scoring the only consolation goal for the visitors as Liverpool ended game with 10-men. New signing Alex Marc Allister was sent off in his first home game.

Semenyo’s performance in their first two matches has received praise from manager Andoni Iraola.

The 23-year-old featured in the first two games of the Premier League season, starting one and coming off the bench in the other.

“Antoine [Semenyo] was very good last week [vs. West Ham]. The minutes he played he gave good energy to the team,” Iraola said.

“[Against Liverpool] also, he pushed a lot. He really finished very tired.

“But I think what we expect from our forward players is to give everything they have. A player comes and we are in a good position.”

Having joined the Cherries in January, Semenyo started two games and made nine substitute appearances scoring once.
