Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, has revealed that he is banking on the GHALCA Top 4 tournament and the Super Cup to fine-tune his squad ahead of their historic debut in the CAF Champions League.

The 2025 Ghana Premier League champions will face a tough test in the preliminary round, having been paired against Algerian giants Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie (JSK). Before their continental campaign begins, however, GoldStars will participate in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 competition alongside Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions, and Hearts of Oak.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Manso stressed the importance of the domestic pre-season competitions in preparing his players for the challenge ahead.

“The GHALCA Top 4 and the Super Cup will help us in our preparation towards our match with JSK. At the moment, we are looking at the first game,” the coach explained.

GoldStars will host JSK in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 19, before travelling to Algeria for the decisive return fixture scheduled for September 26.

The Ghanaian champions, who secured their maiden league title last season, are hoping to make a strong statement in their first appearance in Africa’s premier club competition.
