Felix Lartey Reveals He Left Immigration Service to Chase Coaching Dream for Ghana
Former Ghana national table tennis champion Felix Lartey has disclosed that his passion for sport and desire to serve the country inspired him to leave a secure career with the Ghana Immigration Service in pursuit of coaching education in the United States.
Lartey, who previously served as an Inspector with the Immigration Service, said the decision was driven by a long-term vision of returning home to help shape the future of Ghanaian sport through coaching and athlete development.
According to the former table tennis star, he believes investing in coaching knowledge is one of the most effective ways to make a lasting impact on the country’s sporting landscape.
“Because of my passion for sports and my love for Ghana, I resigned from the Ghana Immigration Service as an Inspector to pursue coaching education in the United States,” Lartey revealed.
He explained that his ambition extends beyond personal achievement, stressing that his ultimate goal is to contribute directly to the development of Ghana’s next generation of athletes.
“My goal is to return home, become a national coach and use my knowledge to develop the next generation of Ghanaian athletes,” he added.
Lartey has long been regarded as one of Ghana’s respected figures in table tennis, representing the nation during his competitive career before transitioning into sports development.
