Ghanaian hurdler Evonne Britton made an impressive start to her campaign at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championships after winning Heat 1 of the women’s 100m hurdles.

Competing in front of an energetic home crowd at the University of Ghana Stadium, Britton delivered a composed performance to finish first and secure qualification to the semi-finals.

The Ghanaian athlete looked sharp throughout the race, maintaining control from the start before pulling clear to seal victory in her heat.

Speaking after the race, Britton expressed satisfaction with her performance while highlighting the key areas she concentrated on during the event.

“I focused on my start and finishing,” she said.

The hurdler added that she was pleased with how the race unfolded as she continues preparations for the next round.
