Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah delivered a stellar performance for Olympique Lyon, scoring twice in their 4-0 victory over Steaua Bucharest to secure a place in the Europa League quarterfinals.

The Ghanaian international has now found the back of the net in consecutive games for the French side, further solidifying his importance in Lyon’s attack.

Nuamah opened the scoring in the 37th minute, making amends for two earlier missed chances—one where he struck the post and another where he misfired on the rebound. His persistence paid off, as he finally slotted home to give Lyon the lead.

He capped off a brilliant performance with his second goal in the 88th minute, latching onto a pinpoint cross from Georges Mikautadze to seal Lyon’s commanding 7-1 aggregate triumph.

With this performance, Nuamah continues to make a strong case for a regular starting role as Lyon push forward in European competition.
