Dreams FC head coach Abdul Karim Zito has cited lack of experience as a major factor behind his team’s struggles in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Despite making an impressive CAF Confederation Cup debut, Dreams FC has found domestic competition tough, currently sitting 15th on the league table with 20 points from 19 matches.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Sports, Zito admitted that many of his players are still adapting to the demands of Premier League football.

“Some of our players came from Division Two, and when you are learning, patience is required. Some adapt quickly, but others take time to adjust to the system,” he explained.

Despite managing just four wins, eight draws, and seven defeats, the veteran coach remains optimistic about his team’s chances of turning things around when the league resumes.

Zito emphasized that the transition from lower-tier football to the Premier League is a challenging process for young players.

“The level of play in the second division is completely different from the Premier League,” he noted.

“Players coming from the lower tier always struggle at first, but I can assure you that when the league resumes, we will be a different side altogether.”

While acknowledging the difficult start, Zito insists that his “Still Believe” squad is determined to fight for survival and silence critics.

“While the road has been rocky, the ‘Still Believe’ lads are ready to fight for their survival – and prove their critics wrong,” he assured.

With the league set to resume soon, Dreams FC will be looking to climb up the table and avoid the relegation battle, banking on their youthful squad to step up in the second half of the season.
