Coach Nurudeen Amadu Departs FC Samartex After Mutual Agreement
FC Samartex and head coach Nurudeen Amadu have parted ways by mutual consent, marking the end of his tenure just 13 matches into the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The decision comes amid a challenging run of form for the Timber Giants, including three consecutive league defeats.
FC Samartex currently occupies 10th place in the league standings with 17 points.
Amadu joined Samartex in July 2023 and made an immediate impact, leading the club to its historic maiden Premier League title. That success earned them a spot in the CAF Champions League, where their journey was cut short after elimination by Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the second round.
In the interim, assistant coach Henry Wellington will assume leadership of the team while the club’s management begins the search for a new permanent head coach.
