Burkina Faso Withdraws From WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup
Burkina Faso have officially withdrawn from the WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup set to be staged in Ghana.
The Burkinabè Football Federation confirmed their withdrawal in a letter addressed to the Executive Directorate of WAFU-B, citing undisclosed reasons for their decision.
With Burkina Faso out, Group A now features only two teams: Ghana and Benin. Group B remains unchanged, with Nigeria, Niger, and Côte d’Ivoire competing for the top spots.
The tournament is set to be held from December 12 to 22, 2024, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Ghana.
The event marks a pivotal moment for the Black Maidens, who are eager to make a strong comeback following a two-year suspension by CAF over age-cheating allegations in 2022.
