Black Challenge Plans Protest March Over Delayed Payments
Ghana’s National Amputee Football Team, the Black Challenge, has announced plans for a peaceful walk to protest unpaid bonuses and seek the government’s attention regarding their grievances.
The team won gold medals in the African Paralympic Games hosted in Ghana and the Amputee AFCON in May 2024. However, according to the team, the government has not paid their per diems and winning bonuses for both competitions.
In the quest to resolve this issue, players and technical team of the team will stage a peaceful protest on Tuesday, 3rd December 2024 from Kwame Nkrumah Circle to the Flagstafff House; Coach Richard Steven Obeng disclosed on GH One TV.
According to reports, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has requested a detailed account of donations received by the team before releasing any payments.
