Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has urged his players to approach their upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Swedru All Blacks with caution and focus.

The Bibires will travel to the Swedru Stadium on Sunday to face the newly promoted side, who are back in the top flight after a 16-year absence. All Blacks, nicknamed the Black Magicians, will be eager to make a strong statement in front of their home fans.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are aiming to bounce back after a disappointing opening day defeat to Asante Kotoko in Berekum. Coach Boadu stressed that his side must avoid complacency against their opponents.

“They will be very stubborn. We should not underrate them. Once they are in the competition, we will give them the maximum respect but we will do our maximum best so we can get the point or points over there,” he said in his pre-match interview.

The coach also revealed that injuries remain a challenge for his squad, with several key players sidelined and others racing to regain fitness.

“The injuries are still pending but then we have to manage some of the players that we have and teach them how they can go about this game. I believe in about two weeks’ time we can get the injured players back,” Boadu explained.

The Swedru encounter promises to be a testing battle, as both sides seek their first points of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
