Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe, has underlined the critical role of a functional Management Committee in the success of Ghana’s national teams.

His remarks come in the wake of the GFA’s announcement of a new Management Committee for the Black Stars, which replaces the previous committee led by Mark Addo. The reorganization follows Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking to Sporty FM, Pappoe acknowledged the significance of such committees but cautioned against mere symbolic appointments.

“A well-functioning Management Committee is relevant for the running of our football or national teams, but if the members are not committed, they will be there only in name,” Pappoe said.

He further elaborated on the responsibilities of an efficient committee, highlighting its duties in ensuring the team’s operational success.

“The duties of the Management Committee include organization, planning, preparation, camping, accommodation, counselling, and support for the technical team,” he explained.

The newly constituted committee includes Dr. Randy Abbey, Stephen Appiah, Moses Amarh, Dr. Richard Nsenkyire and Samuel Aboabire.
